Training for Schools
Whole day, half day and 2-hour presentations/workshops/inservices covering a broad range of topics can be arranged. Presentations can be prepared for students, parents, general education staff, special education staff, and/or administrators. We would be happy to provide training at a school site, or we can arrange off-site facilities. Recent educational programs have included preschool assessment, school-based problem-solving teams, response to intervention model, best practice in early childhood education, responding to critical incidents in schools, supporting students in times of crisis, and myths about giftedness.
Inservice and workshops are available in a wide range of topics, and customized programs can also be arranged. In addition to the topics listed above, our speakers regularly present on various aspects of assessment, neuropsychology, certification and licensure, compliance with federal and state special education legislation, progress monitoring of special education students, and fostering home-school collaboration.
If you do not see a topic of interest listed here, give us a call - this list is not exhaustive and we may have an expert in your desired topic area ready to meet your needs!
Assessment for Schools
Evaluation of individual students can be conducted for students with learning problems, behavioral/emotional concerns, and other health issues affecting educational performance. Typical health issues include, but are not limited to, traumatic brain injuries, genetic disorders, mental retardation, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Individual student evaluations include interviews with teacher and parent/guardian, one-on-one assessment with student, interpretive report of test results and determination of disability, as well as recommendations for intervention.
Evaluation of personnel can be conducted during employment screening and hiring, professional development, disability determinations, and similar situations. Personnel evaluations include interviews with staff member and administrator, one-on-one assessment with staff member, interpretive report, and recommendations for hiring/intervention/development plan.
School- and district-wide evaluation can be designed to meet a variety of needs, for example, program evaluation, assessment of staff or team effectiveness, and large-scale needs assessment.

Consultation for Schools
Human Resource Consultation
PACE, PLC will meet with school principals or other district administrators to provide support related to staff/faculty recruitment, retention, staff development, performance issues, burnout, and similar HR issues.
Program Development, Evaluation and Implementation
Program development is a formal approach to creating new programs based on strategies deemed effective by empirical or research-derived information.
Program imlementation is the execution of a newly created program, and typically involves some degree of program evaluation and feedback during the early phases of the program.
Program evaluation is a structured system of examining and comparing existing programs to "best practice" or ideal programs. The primary purpose of program evaluation is to identify program needs, as well as to provide constructive feedback as to what modifications or enhancements can be made in order to produce a more effective and efficent program.
PACE, PLC will meet with school principals, district administrators, school faculty, psychologists, social workers, and other relevant staff to design and implement new programs (e.g., curriculum-based measurement, response-to-intervention model of identifying students with learning disabilities, positive behavioral supports, effective classroom environments, parent involvement and many other topics). Follow-up involves evaluation of program effectiveness and modification as needed. PACE, PLC will also work with building-level or district personnel to evaluate existing programs and make necessary improvements.
